music for winds
by Yap Sin Yee

About the Arranger
Sin Yee is a music lover and has been playing the piano and saxophone since her youth. Apart from formal studies in music during her junior college years, Sin Yee is mostly self taught and her works are mostly borne out of her passion for playing. Sin Yee started her stint in music arrangements back in secondary school, mostly writing for saxophone quartet, before venturing into full wind band and orchestra arrangements. She transcribes mainly pop and jazz songs, combining the elements of easy listening with the sonority of a full wind band sound. Sin Yee believes in promoting the concept of the wind band sound and making it more accessible to all audiences, and at the same time making it fun for musicians to play.
Sin Yee is currently based in Singapore and her published works include "Mayday Medley" (五月天组曲). She plays regularly with The Philharmonic Winds, a renowned wind band in the Singapore music scene. Sin Yee collaborates with Useful Music in creating more material for the wind band and music scene in Asia.
